Hutchison Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Sudip Baral. Sudip is a recent graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering. Sudip will be working out of the Carbondale office on transportation design and construction inspection.
 

Hutchison Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Julie Klamm. Julie comes to HEI after 31 years with IDOT – District 9 where she most recently worked as the Environmental Studies Specialist. Julie will be working in our Carbondale office on Phase I environmental studies, design report and plan development as well as regulatory agency coordination.
 

The 240,000 pound arch keystone was set on May 5, 2021 for the new eastbound I-74 true arch basket handle structure carrying I-74 over the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities. HEI serves as part of the GEC team working to coordinate multiple contracts associated with the $1.2B I-74 corridor improvement in the Quad Cities.

HEI is providing construction inspection services to the LaSalle County Highway Department for the replacement of the CH 5 structure over the Vermillion River known locally as the Sandy Ford Bridge. The project includes the removal of the existing 3-span riveted Pratt thru truss with concrete deck on steel pile abutments followed by construction of a new single span reinforced concrete deck on composite steel plate girder bridge on vertical abutments, construction of dual permanent sheet pile retaining walls and approach roadway work. Construction has begun and HEI employee, Steve Mellendorf had the honor of pushing the plunger to ignite the explosion to demolish the old bridge.

Logan is a recent graduate of Iowa State University in Civil Engineering after spending four years in the United States Coast Guard. Logan will be working out of the Peoria office on transportation design and construction inspection.

Jacob has five years of construction and materials testing experience and numerous certifications from Lakeland College as well as being a Technical Engineering Specialist in the Illinois Army National Guard. Jacob will be working out of the Carbondale office on transportation design and construction inspection.

Kevin comes to HEI after impressive careers at IDOT - District 9 and Union County. He rose to the Bureau Chief level at IDOT and was most recently the Union County Engineer. Kevin will be managing day-to-day operations in the Carbondale office and also responsible for business development throughout southern Illinois.
