Hutchison Engineering, Inc. was selected by Illinois Department of Transportation, District #3 to assist in the construction observation of the Bourbonnais Parkway/6000N and I -57 interchange project. This project was a $63 million contract that consisted of the construction of a new diamond interchange for 6000N Rd and I-57, which included replacement and widening of the existing structure carrying 6000N over I-57, I-57 ramp construction, widening 6000N and intersection improvements at US 45/52 and IL 50. In addition, new roadway and interchange lighting and traffic signals, utilizing LED lighting were installed. This is the first interchange within the State of Illinois to utilize LED lighting in lieu of high-pressure sodium lighting. Other major improvements within the project include storm sewer installation, construction of single and multi-span box culverts at multiple locations, construction of a shared use path and sidewalk, embankment, curb and gutter and landscape restoration. HEI provided assistance to the IDOT Resident Engineer with documentation and contractor oversight.
