Waltham CCSD #185

Hutchison Engineering, Inc. provided site design, construction services for the new Waltham School District middle school. The $10 million school was constructed on a new site north of the Village of Utica along IL 178. HEI’s responsibilities included constant coordination with the architect, IEPA, IDNR, and IHPA coordination, utility coordination, water system design, sanitary sewer design, storm sewer design, storm water detention design, layout plans for sidewalks, parking lots, and playgrounds and grading plans. Due to the project site being located along IL 178, extensive coordination with IDOT was required including a traffic study to determine the need for turn lanes and to obtain an entrance permit.
